Sennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless RF Headphones with Charging CradleSennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless RF Headphones with Charging Cradle

Noise, noise, noise. -- 2010-07-30
Well the noise is horrible on this things, whether it's from picking up static or from auto gain I don't know. And I don't care. The fact that it's constantly in your ears a little and when the sound on tv is low you get a lot of the static noise (can deafen you) - has no excuse.
I didn't return it because the charging station is very nice and I bought it so my wife won't bother me with blasting TV, so I don't really care about quality of her reality tv shows. But I wouldn't recommend those to anyone.

Complete Goof! -- 2010-07-29
These headphones, despite the miraculous reviews on here, don't even work with my TV! They're incompatible with the newer TV's, which don't offer RCA Audio Output anymore. These headphones are old school, and will not work on the newer model TVs. Complete waste of time & effort for me ordering these headphones. I wouldn't have liked them anyway, had my TV been compatible. Not worth the $64 price tag. They probably cost $4 to manufacture.

Mid-price Wireless Headphones fill the Gap -- 2010-07-27
I asked for these headphones since my old wired headphones had literally fallen apart. I wanted a wireless set since I really like the wireless Sennheiser set I use at work but I didn't think the price for a Sennheiser would be worth it. I also wanted IR headphones because I didn't want another RF source to cause frequency interference with other electronics in the house. Plus, I usually use these right in front of my PC, so I can have the transmitter above my monitor and I don't have to worry about losing the signal if I leave the room.

After several weeks of using the headhpones for listening to music or playing games on my PC, I think these headphones will work fine until I have the money to buy a Sony MDR-IF540RK ($62) or Pioneer SE-DIR800C ($250). The biggest gripe I have is comfort. These start to bother my ears after prolonged use, whereas my larger Sennheiser headphones cover the entire ear and are much more comfortable.

Not for use with big screen plasma tvs -- 2010-07-22
I was excited to get this product for a gift, only to discover it becomes unuseable with static when you are sitting in front of a plasma TV. It works fine with a stereo and possibly with other TV's, but not a plasma. The problem is with the IR between the headphones and the base. Maybe if your far enough away it would work, but if you want to sit in a normal viewing distance, look for something else. Also, the sound volume is somewhat limited.

these headphones are not 100% compatible with all cars sold in the US. we have a dodge durango and they do not work with our built in dvd player. our children were very disappointed.

So far these are great! -- 2010-07-25
I purchased these to replace the broken headsets that came with our van's DVD system. I have been very pleased - so far they are holding up great to my 2 rough and tumble boys. The headsets fit much better than the factory ones ever did too! I'm very happy with this product.

Wish I could Skip Track -- 2010-07-26
I bought these without doing proper research. It pairs and works with the iPhone and iPad but not all features work. I can adjust the volume and play and pause, but cannot skip tracks. Reading some forums you can buy the Sony BT dongle and the buttons all work, have not tried this. But the quality and sound is great I love to launch a playlist and walk away!

Dont buy this product -- 2010-07-16
The connectivity is very poor. get disconnected even when phone is not out of range.

Sound quality is Very good -- 2010-07-30
So I bought these because the RF headset that I normally use was starting to break down physically. I had used it for years with no real problem. Panasonic I think. I wanted to spend the money and get something with better sound and more comfort. I use these for watching TV when my wife has gone to bed or play my video game when so she can listen to the radio and we don't compete with each other for sound. I have to say the sound quality is there. I am impressed I can hear things on my games I never knew existed and the music and television is awesome. Plus these are much more comfortable than the older set that I had. If the game is going very well and lasting a long time I don't feel like my ears are rubbing off. If I had one suggestion it would be this..and forgive me I'm an engineer. The control buttons are too difficult to adjust while they are on your head. You need to be able to easily identify which button is which with feel so make them more distinctive in feel and spatial separation. Most of the time I adjust the volume or turn them on and off. I don't adjust the balance much. The room in many cases is dark due to the fact that I am watching TV and my wife has gone to bed. The range of transmission is great no problems working and walking around the house. I have even stepped outside in the backyard with no problems. All in all great stuff I would get them again

Simply Amazing! -- 2010-07-28
I absolutely love them. I get perfect reception in 97 percent of my two story house and most of the back yard. They make house work a LOT less boring.

Jim's review -- 2010-07-29
When watching HDTV the volume on my tv has to be turned up to 60.These headphones work great when watching HDTV programing. My tv volume can be turned off. I bought two.One for my wife and me. Nice and clear sound.

Easy to setup and work great -- 2010-07-27
These do exactly what I wanted them for. They are a little jicky getting them back onto the base in the proper charging position but that's a minor annoyance compared to the convenience of using them. My wife can now listen to Don't Stop Believing over and over and over again without me having to endure the pain of wanting to kill myself every time I hear Steve Perry start singing.."just a small town boy...". Thank you God for these headphones. It looks like I won't be seeing you as soon as I thought I would.

I DRIVE A BIG TRUCK AND IT WORKS GREAT -- 2010-07-29
I drive an eighteen wheeler and needed hands free while making local deliveries. Another driver had tried 3 or 4 different types of bluetooth headsets and earpieces without success. One day he called me and asked how he sounded and I told him it was better than his normal phone. After he told me what he finally bought, I ordered one for myself and it works great and I have had no issues with it so far.
I have recommended it to other truck drivers to comply with hands free laws in our area.

Good product -- 2010-07-29
I purchased this headset because my cell phone conversations seemed sometimes difficult through the Bluetooth in my car.
The unit is a bit large and heavy on the side with the boom and electronics but the quality is Excellent!!

Flaky reception and Uncomfortable -- 2010-07-27
I could not get these headphones to work properly with either of my two Apple computers.

I had constant dropouts on my MacBook Air and it disconnected my
bluetooth keyboard and mouse on my Mac Mini each time I turned on
the headphones. My WiFi connection became choppy anytime the
headphones were turned on.

I worked with Apple tech support and we could not come up with what was
wrong. I tried every option I could think of.

I found the headset to be VERY uncomfortable. It was hot and was too
small to fit over my ears, so they "smooshed" my ears and gave
me a headache. The control buttons were so small that I could not
reliably use them. Worst ergonomics I've seen in quite awhile.

I gladly returned these headphones.

Wireless vs. Sound Quality - Can't have both -- 2010-07-25
I've had these headphones for a few months now. I bought them due to the fantastic reviews about the superior sound quality over other bluetooth (and even wired) headphones. I'm an audiophile, and I've experimented with other Bluetooth headphones--and though I've been consistently disappointed, I figured the technology might have come around to yield a pair of high-quality wireless headphones.

Well, has it? Yes--and no.

One reviewer here or on another site said these are studio DJ-quality headphones. That reviewer obviously never listened to studio DJ-quality headphones. Are these headphones much better than your average $35 bluetooth headsets? Yes. But don't expect to be testing tracks with these. If you're a serious audiophile, you will hear that high pitches or cymbal crashes get crackly. The bass is good, but you will hear the difference of how these headphones interpret electronic music to rock music (heavy metal fans might be disappointed with bands that use a wide range of sounds). And here's the other thing: no matter how good the quality of your headphones actually are, you're still listening to them via bluetooth. It's like radio--through even the best pair of speakers, it still sounds like radio. You *will* get interference. You will get static. I've experienced sound problems when I had my bluetooth phone next to me (I eventually disabled it), or when I had my external hard-drives running. God help you if you're in a cafe near a microwave, which will cause the sound to cut out completely. If you are looking for complete consistency in your listening experience, don't get these. If you don't care that much and just want to get wireless, you'll probably be fine. You might even find that you love them. It's a question of how much you care about the sound quality versus the wireless factor.

The usability of these headphones is also a downside. Getting them to sync up (I use them primarily with a MacBook Pro) is a pain. It took me awhile to figure out that the headphones are actually connected to the computer, even though the Bluetooth icon doesn't read a transmission signal. Once you've got the hang of it, it's fine, but it always feels like a touch-and-go situation. I've had them desync on me for no apparent reason, causing me to turn them off and on again multiple times to get them to re-sync and start playing again.

In closing, the fact that Sony originally priced these at $200 is laughable. If you're shelling out that kind of money for sound quality, get a real pair of wired studio phones. While the construction and comfort factor on these things is great, they should be in the $75-$100 range, no more. After a certain point, if you're buying headphones for the wireless factor, consider how badly you want good sound quality. It might be worth it to get a cheaper pair if you don't care that much. That said, if you really need the "best" of both worlds (more like the above-average of both worlds, in this case) than these are probably about as good as it's going to get.
