Creative Zen Mozaic 16 GB MP3 Player (Black)Creative Zen Mozaic 16 GB MP3 Player (Black)

no title -- 2010-07-27
i didn't have any prior experience with mp3 players before purchasing this one. i was a little worried at first that it was going to be hard to figure out, but it was a cinch!

audio book player -- 2010-07-27
Purchased this about 1.5 months ago, still haven't decided if I like it. I wish that it would insert a bookmark on its own, as my car stereo does when playing a book on CD. I do not like having to set the bookmark on purpose. I also find it confusing on its navigability.

Other than that - the sound is good.

Why can't there be something out there just for audiobooks?

nice product -- 2010-07-25
I bought this just for downloading books, it was listed as a compatible device with both overdrive media and audible, the other reviews were good, and the price was right. The only problem I've had is the book tracks shuffle, and I don't know how to put them back into order, but to be honest I haven't tried real hard. Also, the book I downloaded from audible won't play, but I think that's an audible problem, I couldn't get the first one I downloaded to play on my computer. The player is just the right size, and looks good, but I have a little trouble reading the buttons. Definitely get different earbuds, I can't keep the big clunky kind that came with it in my ears. The battery life seems good, I listened for 8-9 hours over 2 days and it still had a charge. Overall it's a good product at a good price.

Great little mp3 player -- 2010-07-21
I have had this for a few weeks and so far I really like it. It is what is is, mine is the 4gb so it doesn't hold everything, but I didn't expect it to. I did have the FM tuner freeze it up once, I restarted it and have had no further problem. It is not my first Creative product, I have had several and I have really liked them.

Creative Zen Death -- 2010-07-30
My 16 meg Zen Wi-Fi died with the white screen of death after two years. I bought this 8 meg unit as a repllacement. It lasted one week and froze with the white screen of death. On the plus side, Creative is sending me a replacement. In the meantime, I bought an inexpensive RCA Pearl (2 meg <$30) and it sounds better than the Zen (if you use the Creative earplugs). I probably won't even use the replaement Zen that Creative is sending me.

What the heck?! -- 2010-07-28
Depending on the service of Creative, this review is tentative. I received my player and it was great. Good quality and functionality. I used it for half a day and then when I went to update it on Creatives' own website, it killed it. The thing never worked again. Wouldn't even turn on. I love Creative products but this is ridiculous. I'm not going to just throw $100 away for a paper-weight. Come on Creative, you can do better than that. I really hope you rectify your reputation by sending me a new one, because if not, I would advise you not to ever go to the Creative website.

Creative Zen MX 16GB -- 2010-07-25
For the spec and money this Zen MX is a very impressive little MP3 player. You can play your music, photos and videos, as well as listen to a fm radio, set alarms, use a voice recorder and set up an organiser, all on a unit the size of a credit card! You can also customize the back screen so it is of a colour you like. The sound quality is very impressive and that was on the pre-set EQ setting, once you tailor it for your own preferences you will be in sonic heaven. The volume range is more than adequate as well. The 2'5 inch screen is fairly decent when selecting your music, but for prolonged photo or video viewing it can be a touch too small, but this is perfect for those snaps you may want to quickly share at odd moments or those you want with you at all times. This has an expandable memory via an SD card and whilst the onboard 16GB may seem too small for some users, this is easily rectified with additional cards; for my main music use this is more than acceptable. This was quick and easy to transfer music to and although it comes with some Creative interface, you can just as easily drag and drop, which is what I did. The battery life is fairly decent on a MP3 of this size and whilst it comes with a USB cable for charging, I invested in a mains charger which was cheap to find here on Amazon. In fact the USB is the only down side to the whole package, it is extremely short and not practical in the slightest. I used an existing cable I owned and kept the MP3 player out of harms way on top of my desk as I transferred music. But as you can see, this is a very minor issue with what is a very adaptable and impressive player. After many years of Sony use and their terrible ATRAC software, I am glad to get my hands on this and can't see myself going back. Overall this is an impressive little player, with decent sound and features and although there may be better units for photos and videos, this is still well worth buying for what it offers all round.

Creative Zen 2 GB Portable Media Player (Black)Creative Zen 2 GB Portable Media Player (Black)

Excellent player - smaller and lighter than ipod and has FM radio -- 2010-07-27
I really like this player -
PROS:
Smaller and lighter than the ipod
Very portable
Has an FM radio built in
Easy to use
You can watch Amazon videos on it

CONS:
not compatible with itunes - which is OK for music/vidoes since itunes is overpriced, but I am not sure how to get podcasts onto the Zen

not as good as the last one -- 2010-07-06
I had been using a Creative Zen for about 8 years and was mostly happy with the device. Good sound quality etc. But when I dropped it, it was obviously time to buy a new MP3. I initially purchased a refurbished Zune and it sucked, no instruction manual, would not sync with Rhapsody, so I returned it and went with what I had had luck with in the past. I had issues getting the device and my computer to sync, and could not use the start up disc as my drive is bad, I could not find any place on Creative's site to download the program. Went to another computer and it worked out ok. My biggest issue with the device at this time is that I have had to reset it multiple times. Sometimes after charging and disconnecting from the computer and one time when i really needed it, as I use my MP3 when I teach my fitness classes. Overall the sound quality is pretty good, I just do not like not knowing if I am going to have to reset the machine minutes before I am supposed to start teaching a class. It is very frustrating screwing with the thing while you have people waiting to work out. Creative Zen 32 GB Portable Media Player (Black)

Creative EP-630 In-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones (Black)Creative EP-630 In-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones (Black)

Incredibly good sound quality, deep bass - flimsy cable though. -- 2010-07-27
This is an excellent product. I lost my old pair and ordered new ones. These are THAT good. I won't settle for anything else. The EP-630s are the perfect in ear headphones. The lows are deep, the mids are good and the highs are done well too. If you want these headphones for rock, acoustical or basically any music, these will do. You WILL be satisfied with these. I own a pair of Z-5500s by logitech and these are like mini versions in my ears. Of course the bass won't shake stuff off your walls but the volume and quality is there.

Worth Over $100 -- 2010-07-19
I'm an avid CLASSICAL music listener, as well as the opposite of the spectrum: METAL.

I went everywhere and spent from $10 to $100 on the Monster Turbines. And while the Turbines are great for classical and acoustic music (the highs are pretty high and the sound is crisp) those suckers suck when it comes to metal. The sound was empty when it stood the true test of music...

SYMPHONIC METAL, this means listening to opera, piano, guitars, and drums in the same song.

And the 630's take good care of boasting a good base, very nice trebles, and the soundstage is beyond incredible. Music comes alive with these, even finicky music like classical music, acoustic, hip-hop and symphonic metal.

Zen-X-Fi-2 Review -- 2010-07-27
Sound Quality is not so good. Playlist option is not user friendly. We cannot add songs to the playlist as and when needed. Once created that's it. No options to alter the Playlist

not bad -- 2010-07-26
Its a nice little unit. The touch screen works but the old button system was easier to use. The touch screen is a bit cumbersome. ie genre, add genre, back out to currently playing, press play. With the old system you scrolled down to the genre and pressed play.
With this model you have to clear out what you were listening to first. If you were listening to classic rock and want to switch to alternative then you would remove genre, back out to alternative, add genre then back out again to now playing.

I liked my old one better. The X-fi button does make a very noticeable improvement to the sound.

I'd recommend the product but I still miss my old one. Who ever found it on the airplane... enjoy. :(
