SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)

Nice -- 2010-07-30
I know very little about Ipods and mp3 players, but I have totally enjoyed this player so far. I have figured out how to download music, which I had never done before, quite easily with a little help from my son. Although if you want to download from itunes, it would be easier of course with an ipod, this may be the only downfall. My son helped me initially with the downloads from itunes and just got me going now it is no problem for me. The sound that comes from this little unit is amazing.

Don't Hesitate to Buy this -- 2010-07-29
I was debating on buying a less expensive MP3 player . This little guy is awesome great sound easy to load from Windows Media player and a steal at 31 dollars.

Love my Fuze -- 2010-07-30
Love my Fuze - perfect size, sound is great, and life of the battery is awsome.

Excellent MP3 player -- 2010-07-28
This, in my opinion is the best mp3 player on the market. I believe it is superior to even the Ipod simply because of it's expandable storage, FM tuner, and reasonable price.

Near perfect player....highly recommended. -- 2010-07-27
So I bought one of these players from Amazon to replace my old and failing iPod video (5g). I have to say, it is almost the ideal music player. It handles gapless playback well (no gap on some formats, tiny gap on others) and can be expanded easily via the microSD card slot. I did a comparison test using the same headphones and mp3 file on my old ipod, my son's ipod touch, my wife's iPhone 3gs, and the Clip Plus. It smoked them all in sound quality. The clip plus also supports more audio file formats than some players. The microSD card is integrated into the main library well. The only complaints I have are that it is tricky to make playlists which include songs both in the internal memory and the microSD card...and that I wish there was a way to hide the Slot Radio option on the main menu. Other than those, the player is awesome!!! If you don't want to watch video or look at pictures, this is the player you want!

Tiny player with big sound! -- 2010-07-26
I bought the Sansa clip to use at the gym. When I first got it I worried that I'd need my glasses to read the screen, but I was pleasantly surprised. Don't be fooled by the size -- it packs a pretty big punch on sound. Another pleasant surprise! It stores quite a bit of music, and the quality of playback is excellent. I have not used the earbuds that came with the Sansa, however. Instead, I ordered the JBuds. I recommend both!

This is what a MP3 player should be like -- 2010-07-19
Pros: works great, easy to use, low cost, small yet good feature set, (compared to an iPod) no iTunes required
Cons: limited storage, fast-forwarding not optimal, limited volume and audio quality, small screen

I've previously owned 2 iPods: one was circa 2005 and the other was a video iPod with plenty of space. I had a litany of problems. Sometimes they'd work fine but those days were few and far between. I finally caved in and purchased a vastly cheaper, less sexy MP3 player. The results? No skipping, no iTunes, and no problems after 4 months of frequent use.

Besides actually working, it's also very easy to use. There's a play and a stop button. A power button hasn't been sacrificed for aesthetic sensibility. The software is simple, too. There's no bloat like notepads, simple games, etc. The Clip only has the stuff you need to actually play music. One other great aspect compared to an iPod is it acts as a hard drive instead of forcing you to use iTunes.

Of course, with it costing so little, there are some downsides. Space is limited. You probably won't be able to keep your whole MP3 collection with you. Volume and audio quality are also a little inferior to the iPod. This isn't really a big deal with songs but some podcasts can be impossible to hear if there's a lot of background noise. Also, the screen is small and fast-forwarding (holding down the next track button) can be a little awkward.

Having said that, at its price and being a former iPod owner, the Sansa Clip greatly exceeded my expectations. I'd highly recommend it.

this thing is awesome -- 2010-07-17
when i first bought this thing, i just wanted to get something that would play music, and that's just about it. And i'll tell you what, it does a damn good job at it. it sounds just as good as an ipod (yes i've used one) if not better. You can also synch your songs too it lightning fast! i put about 200 songs on it in about 10 mins. if you want something that is really good for playing music, buy this and you won't regret it, trust me.

Worked good for a while then it went dead -- 2010-07-29
It seemed like a good product initially. But to keep it simple, it went dead. No computer can see it when it's plugged in the USB now and it can not turn on. It's totally sealed so there is nothing that can be done. Reliability is about the most important feature in any product. So this is simply not reliable.

OK -- 2010-07-26
This player is OK. I have had this one for about 7 months. It has stopped playing two times. When you push the on button it would not come on, but later work again.

GOOD MP3 -- 2010-07-25
Hey this MP3 player is very neat... easy to use simply plug into your computer and start loading your music on. its small but the display on the screen is very easy to read. the clip on the back allows your to clip it on to your clothing so its basically hands free movement. good product for its value over all.....

Nothing but trouble -- 2010-07-17
It worked fine for about a week.

Then it wouldn't hold a charge overnight. It would be fully charged when I went to sleep and dead in the morning. I made sure it was off before going to sleep.

Now, after owning it for less than a month, it's completely dead.

I went to the sansa web site to find out how to get a replacement and can't find an easy way to do this or an easy way to communicate with someone.

I guess you get what you pay for.

Great for the price -- 2010-07-29
Sounds great and you can't beat the price. The build quality is a little cheesy and the volume control is a pain, (it is opposite the earphone jack and I'm always hitting the jack with the opposing finger). The display is great and the other controls are easy to use. A great unit for less than $50.

Thought it died, but needed to reset! Hold power button for 20 seconds -- 2010-07-24
Well, I liked this device until about two days ago, then I thought it completely failed. I eventually went to the Sansa site technical support and found out that you've got to hold the power button for 20 seconds. Hey, it worked. I couldn't get it to turn on before, but after holding the power button down, it did start working again. I lost all my music on the device, but I have that all saved on the computer anyways. Still, after this experience, I cannot give it the super-good rating that it would have gotten otherwise.

Also, I think it is terribly wrong that most MP3 players on the market today don't have replaceable batteries, that includeds the i-Touch, i-Pod, and Zune. I had a Zune that died just after one year due to battery issues, but since you cannot replace the battery without essentially breaking open the device, you are pretty much expected to throw it away. That is crazy to me.

The only one I could on Amazon that has a replaceable battery is SanDisk Sansa e280 8 GB MP3 Player (Black).

Most cell phones will play MP3s and they have replaceable batteries. So, if you've already got a cell phone that plays MP3s, you might want to use that instead.

Why the hell do people pay so much for a lower case 'i'? -- 2010-07-25
I have had th Sansa for a month now. It is extremely easy to use as you do not need to install any software to place music on the device. Battery life has always been enough for me and the device charges quite quickly when plugged in. My favorite part is the expandable microSD slot that can bring its capacity up to 18gb. I fit all my music on there in 2gb but it is always nice to have some wiggle room. The only thing I may have against the device is it collects fingerprints pretty easily, but nothing a soft cloth won't fix. The display is high quality and displays vibrant colors and the added FM radio is good too. The Sansa delivers bang for your buck without breaking bank. You just won't be as cool as the hipsters carrying around an iPod.

Excellent device for the money. -- 2010-07-21
I have been using this mp3 player for a year and have not found any faults so far.

Great Product -- 2010-07-25
This was the first MP3 player I ever bought. It works great and is easy to use, I'm so glad I made the purchase.

Look for something else. -- 2010-07-22
This Sansa product Is like alcohol. Its okay at first, but it just sucks in the end. Its awkward to use and the software interface is too complicated and drawn out. Not flexible. You want something like this to be super easy to use. Customizable to an extent, and easy to access everything with only a few clicks, not 20 clicks.

Must Haves -- 2010-07-28
If you get the SanDisk Sansa Fuze, this is a package you must have. It pretty much covers most, if not all, of the accessories you'll need to complete the Fuze. In addition, some of the items will come in handy for your other electronics. My only criticism is the lack of instructions for attaching the clip to the case (it is threaded so it screws apart).

Good goods/fair price -- 2010-07-21
These accessories are just what you need to hook up the MP3 to the computer and to charge it at home and in the car. The protective case is good protection, but not easy to remove for cleaning. In fact I have been unable to remove it so far. I see another reviewer has used a knife to remove the case. I might try that.
