Bose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® HeadphonesBose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headphones

there is no substitute! -- 2010-07-28
There is no substitute for these headphones. If you can afford them get them, if not then save up til you can. They are pricey but great headphones. I had the QC2's and these are better. Hopefully they will last longer. My QC2's broke after about 5 years. The headpiece cracked on both sides. I hear this is common. The noise canceling and sound quality are great, they are comfortable and not too big.

Finally Bought These After Trying Cheaper Ones -- 2010-07-27
After more than three years of wanting these headphones and trying two different brands I decided to spend the money on the Bose phones. I tried my husband's JVC headphones and purchased a cheap pair of Ableplanet headphones from Costco but neither come close to the quality of sound canceling and sound quality of these headphones. I travel 3-4 times a year but most of the time I use them at work to block out the background hum of multiple lab instruments (loud fans, compressors, computer fans, etc) or chatty co-workers from several cubes away when I'm in the office area. The headphones don't get rid of conversation from the most pervasive talkers (you'll have to deal with them some other way) but it's incredible how much ambient and background noise they do eliminate compared to my other headphones. FYI, I like how these use one AAA battery and how comfortable they are to wear. The fit is incredible. Before this purchase I considered the Dr. Dre Studio Beats but decided on the Bose based on sound canceling ability as that was the most important attribute to me. My next purchase will be a mobile kit so that I can make calls on my iPhone with these phones on. Pricey purchase but worth it!

Don't buy the recommended extension cord! -- 2010-07-30
Other reviewers have mentioned that the cord that comes with these headphones is too short. The "Maxell HP-20 Headphone Extension Cord with Adapters" looks like a great suggestion, however it cannot replace the cord that comes with the headphones. This is because the Maxell cord has only one male jack, while the headphone cord has two.

A good headphones for the long flight to Bangkok -- 2010-07-29
I never wanted to spend $400 for a noise reduction headphones. I think that those Bose are highly priced for no reason. Yes they are good, but how about this JVC HANC250? It is the best for a moderate price, not cheap but under $150. I used it for the first time on my trip to Bangkok, and I was impressed. The noise reduction was almost 100 percent, and I could really listen to and understand what the actors were saying in the movie, something I had not been able to appreciate before with the regular headphones provided by the airline itself.

Run from these -- 2010-07-29
The sound sucks (zero bass). The Noise cancelling sucks (doesn't even cancel out my little desk fan noise). Picks up cell phone GSM noise constantly and amps it into your ears. The cord is to short. The headband carves into the top of my skull. They don't get loud enough. I can't think of a single good thing to say, and that's being kind. I really should return these POS, and I would never, ever, ever buy them again. I will almost certainly just throw them out and try again with another brand.

Sound OK, noise cancellation better than nothing -- 2010-07-26
This earphone provides a complete ear seal. Worn on a 747 and a 777 it eliminated the higher pitches of the engine noise but a steady hum could still be heard. The sound was better and less wearing with the sound deadening engaged but I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps I was expecting dead silence. However the price I paid was 1/10 of the price asked for the Bose phones (do they give total silence?).

Design Flaws Not Fatal For Me -- 2010-07-29
The many reviews for this item are basically accurate about its shortcomings. However, it works well for me. I use it while on my John Deere lawn tractor cutting an acre of grass. I always wear a long sleeve shirt for sun protection, so there's a chest pocket for the control unit, and the other connector cord easily reaches the nano in my pants pocket. The noise suppression does a good job of reducing the mower noise while delivering decent sounding music to my ears. Yes, a dead battery would render the device useless, but it's not a problem for me at home, and for travel, I'd just carry an extra battery with me. However, I discovered that my weed wacker will cause interference in the device (probably the ignition circuits), causing a loud buzz if I get the weed wacker too close to the control unit or connection wires. It's a bother but one I've learned to work around. For the cheap price from Amazon, I figure I'm easily getting my money's worth, assuming Panasonic's reputation for reliability holds true for this device.

Good sound, small, but problems. -- 2010-07-25
The sound is great for ear buds. However, none of the 3 supplied ear pieces fit in our ears. Consequently, or additionally, the noise reduction is barely noticeable on a flight. Noise reduction is not nearly as good as the cheap large pair we replaced. I finally took the ear fittings off entirely and replaced them with pieces of foam from ear plugs. Those fit better, kept the sound out better, and kept the ear buds in our ears. The supplied ear bud covers push the buds out of the ears. Panasonic, get a clue here. We haven't had them long enough to rate reliability. The noise reduction was still significantly less than the cheaper pair we replaced. I would rate it poor.

Broken Beats Studio -- 2010-07-26
Well I was on my way to Iraq and wanted a pair of Bose QC-15, but at the airport they were overpriced. Saw these at a Best Buy kiosk and purchased them. Opened box, put in the batteries and they did a decent job with my Ipod touch. However the mute decided it wanted to be intermittent.

Contacted their customer support and ended up sending them back for repair, and they can't send them back to me, so guess my wife will have to send them. Hope they work then.

Cheaply made, broken earphones -- 2010-07-24
I received my first set of these headphones from Amazon broken. One of the "B's" on the earcups was off, and I could see the underlying circuitry. These things are cheaply made, with poor quality plastic buttons, slides & clasps to hold everything together.

My second replacement pair was received the next day. These were not broken, but there is a constant buzzing in one of the earcups when you turn these things on. After trying for a day, the buzzing is still there, making this product completely unusable.

I bought these as an alternative to the Bose QC 15's, and there's no comparison. Bose makes a FAR better unit, of higher build & sound quality. These Monster headphones are a complete rip-off. DO NOT BUY.

Philips HN 110 Folding Noise-Canceling HeadphonesPhilips HN 110 Folding Noise-Canceling Headphones

Waste of money -- 2010-07-26
It's not comfortable (see other reviews on this topic) and the sound quality is far from good. But what's really unacceptable is that when the NC is enabled, you can hear a white noise in the background, even if the environment is quiet.

Built like a tank but.... -- 2010-07-06
Sometimes tanks aren't so comfortable. I've had these babies for almost two years and they are just know going out the door. That's actually why I'm on Amazon at the moment. I have worn, dropped, slammed(I get so angry at video games sometimes) so many times, that I gave up counting. While they served the purpose they were built for admirably, there is one flaw that plagues these headphones. They are a little too tight and they like to cram your ears. If you have a big head/ ears, you may want to think about it before getting these. I got used to them after sometime and they did loosen up a bit after few months. I get headaches though if I wear them for over an hour though.

Good bits about these headphones, everything. Like I said, These aren't cheaply made. Quality is to be expected from a brand like Philips. The only thing that could be upgrade as far as materials go is the pleather ear pads. The ear pads are cracked a little in a few places and the pleather tend to make them a little hot. of course that is to be expected from "aroung-the-ear" headphones. other than that, they sounds great, Very portable, and you'll notice a major difference when turning on the active noise canceling.

All and all, solid headphones. If you are looking for an entry pair on noise-canceling headphones and your head isn't the size of a watermelon, pick these up. I'm attached to mine even though they hurt my head and it will be hard to let them go. I think I'll keep them a few months after I get my new pair(different). Worth every penny I say.

Awesome earbuds, saved my father's hearing -- 2010-07-29
These earbuds are absolutely amazing. They cancel out the majority of background noise, have good sound quality, and won't break the bank.

I've been using them for several months now just about everyday. I wear them on my hour-long bus ride to and from school everyday. They cancel out almost all of the sound from the reving of the engine and the tires on the road, and they really make you realize just how loud an environment is, and what silence really sounds like.

The sound quality is pretty good on them, not spectacular, but still pretty dang good. They're pretty good at what they do, which is sounding good in loud environments, so if you're looking for headphones that sound amazing, go get some that are made for just that and don't have the noise-canceling capability.

The only bad thing about these is the ease of use. They are a little heavy in your ears, and the pack with the battery in it can get in the way sometimes. I would not recommend running or exercising with them, because I think that they might fall out of your ears.

One more thing. I first got these for my dad for his birthday and he liked them so much that I got myself a pair. He works in a loud factory, and listens to music for the majority of his shift on his iPod. Before he had these he used his normal earbuds, and had to blast his music in the loud factory to be able to hear it, hurting his hearing, and it was starting to show. Now he has these and can listen to his music and even podcasts at a more normal volume. These may have just saved my father's hearing.

Great Performance - Terrible Reliability -- 2010-07-28
I was so happy with the sound and noise cancelling of these, when they quit working after about six months, I purchased a second set. Unfortunately, now the second set has started to just randomly turn on and off. In the middle of a trip to China I purchased a Phillips model for the trip home. It was terrible compared with these. I'm not sure what I am going to do now.

Awesome -- 2010-07-23
Look so much like the apple headphones its not funny. The mic does have a little cheaper feel to them like someone else noted but that is the only thing. Working fine so far but only had them a couple of days.

Did not last long -- 2010-07-23
I bought this just two months ago and it already has an exposed wire and the right earbud doesn't work. I am very disappointed and hope it was just a fluke.

Good Match for the Bose Head Sets -- 2010-07-14
I am really please with this Headset. I travel both by Amtrak and by Airplane and the Noise Canceling feature works well on both. I also find the headset to be fairly comfortable. Generally, I find headsets or earbuds to be uncomfortable with generally poor sound, but these are well worth the money. Probably not as good compared to the Studio units but for portability and use with my MP3 player, which happens to be my Smartphone, I am pleased with this purchase. Much cheaper than the Bose and just as good as I have listen to the comparable units as well.

Excellent headphones. Noise cancellation feature could be better but this is a very good product. I recommend it.

Won't fit large ears. -- 2010-07-28
This is the first earbud that did not fit my ears, even with the largest adapters installed. They were so small that the only way to remove them from my ears was to pull on the wires. This will eventually damage the product.

Very Good -- 2010-05-27
The sound quality is very good for the price that I paid for the item.
