Wow. it is lighter than i thought. Its so easy to use except for the volume control, but ill get used to it. I always loved zune. This made me love it more. Its so cool.
Gorgeous screen - great sound -- 2010-09-02
I've had many mps players from the old Zen, Dell Jukebox, many no names, and the first zunes. Can't compare to ipods since never had an Apple and don't intend to get one ESPECIALLY after this iteration of Zune. BEAUTIFUL color screen, haven't seen any other that matches it's clarity and color. Quality sound with nice depth and volume range. Added bonus of FM radio (including HD - picked up 3 available HD channels in my area), great video playback (be aware Zune software won't support mp4 format), games and simple apps, and internet access (entering letters with popup keyboard can be trying at times). Controls are easy enough and the software provides nice visual feedback while your music is playing. It is a shame that Microsoft don't devote enough effort in building a more extensive apps library but it's secondary. Got mine used at an unbeatable price (way under $100) so if you're looking for a great media player, hard to go wrong with this baby.

This cord works just fine, but the reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the description is misleading. The picture leads you to believe its just like the one that comes with the Zune with the Zune logo on the cord and that its made by Microsoft, but its not.
Other then that it works just fine, and does what it should. Just wish the description wasn't so misleading.

Good Deal on a great Product -- 2010-08-28
Since the last few have hit it on the head, i am not going to re-itterate all the features, etc. I am re-ordering this because i lost the other one within a week of recieving it.
But its a great product, easy to use, havent messed with the component hookup yet, but with the composites, give a good mostly clear picture on my 42" HDTV. Not 1080, but i dont encode my files at top quality for space consideration. But even at a 75% quality encode, the picture is still crisp and the audio is as good a quality as the file. Like others have said, make sure you have your volume up.
One note of caution, the zune menu looks like crap on tv when you shift over the display. Dont fret, once your movie starts, you will be good to go.

I wanted something to connect my zune 120gb to my theater receiver, and I wanted to have something to hold my zune while it charged so it didn't get knocked off. This fits the bill nicely. The base is heavy enough to feel like it won't fall over, and the remote works great as long as you have line of sight. I haven't checked the video out so I won't comment about that.

Take my word for it, the FM transmitter is as bad as they say it is. Even with the mod that's well documented on the web. Even if the transmission can be improved, the transmitted sound has static and is definitely not high fidelity.
The charger cord works well.

If your television is going to be your main house stereo system, if you plan to use this at frequent parties for music, if you plan to watch videos from your Zune on your television consistently, this is a good product for you. Actually, if this describes you, read the third section.
I enjoyed this product for a while just enjoying all the fun bits of it and whatnot, but with more time I realized that ultimately, it's useless.
If you have a laptop or a desktop pc with hdmi output, it will have the same functions, better controls, and better visualizations if you use the Zune software. If you would rather use a component input to your screen, purchase an hdmi-to-component cable instead of an hdmi-to-hdmi cable. Videos are also less hassle from your computer and don't have to go through any conversions though MTP and you can view more file types using media center or another program (dare I say QuickTime? Nah, I won't even go there).
The Zune gets too hot.
I feel like I'm going to accidentally break the flimsy remote through regular use.
The dock will work with a speaker system, but it gives off white noise faintly and, honestly, just get a ac-to-usb adapter to charge and play at the same time. Seriously.
The cables smell funny...plugged in or not.

Love the Zune, But... -- 2010-08-16
I actually loved my Zune. I listen to audiobooks on it and used it daily. The first one I had lasted about 11 months then it just stopped working. I sent it back as it was still under warranty and recieved a new one. That one lasted about as long but the warranty was based on the purchase of the first one. Therefore , if I wanted it fixed, it would cost about $170. It's very frustrating to spend so much on a device and only have it last less than a year. I am now looking for a new device and it will not be a Zune.

Also dont forget to change the display view on the zune itself otherwise you will not
get video on your tv.
