 | Zune HD 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)
Awesome, easy to use, FUN. -- 2010-03-10 Probably the first thing I have to say about this player is how enjoyable I find it. I've discovered a bunch of new things about my favorite artists using the "bio" feature that your Zune HD has when you're connected to the internet. The screen looks amazing, and the sound is wonderful. I should probably organize this, so:
OLED Screen:
Excellent quality; videos & pictures look fantastic. Not great in direct sunlight... duh. The firmware makes clever use of black backgrounds to elongate battery life (OLED's are actually turned off to produce black color). You really have to see the screen to believe it, though. It looks amazing.
Touch Interface:
Very responsive, and the whole thing feels smooth and elegant. The transitions between menus look fantastic. The capacitive touch screen supports multitouch in web browsing, and flipping through pictures is a lot of fun.
Zune Software:
I'm very fond of it - it's attractive and intuitive. It makes iTunes look like MS Excel--and I like iTunes. It's very good at finding artwork and decently customizable (background, allows for editing album info). I particularly like the "social" feature--you can turn on the ability to share what music you're listening to with your friends, and vice-versa. It's a great way to discover new stuff.
Apps:
Not very many.... but the PGR Ferrari edition is really fun, and makes excellent use of the Zune's Tegra processor - the rest are ok, but nothing exciting. There are a number of XNA apps that can be found online (like an ebook reader someone made that works great), but they aren't ideal--they restart the Zune when you exit them. Audiosurf: Tilt is also very entertaining, and it makes for a good way to listen to your music. The calculator is surprisingly useful (it does statistics on good sized arrays of data, including calculating chi squared, SDOM, etc).
Music:
It's extremely easy to navigate and looks great while doing it. Finding songs is a breeze, even with 24 GiB of music on the player - I wouldn't change anything about the navigation system if I had the option. The sound is great; I have some music at 320 kBps and it sounds fantastic. The format support is great. Plays AAC files, so no need to convert from iTunes.
Videos:
The 32 GB storage space makes this player great for video podcasts and for ripped movies/tv shows. As I mentioned earlier, they look wonderful on the 16:9 OLED screen. It's actually reasonable to watch episodes of TV on the Zune HD. Again, format support is solid - and conversion/transfer (when necessary) is very fast (a few minutes for an 800 MiB, 100 minute movie).
Physical Appearance:
You can take a look at pictures of it all over the place. I find it attractive, but this is quite subjective. Holding it next to an iPod touch makes the touch look enormous... quite a feat. It's both smaller and lighter. It fits great in my hand, and is quite easy to use with one hand while walking to class.
Web Browser:
It works... you can load up Google maps (eventually... it's not quick), Facebook, Gmail, and any other website (no Adobe Flash capability, though, and that means no YouTube/hulu videos). The internet isn't speedy, but it's passable for browsing around and checking email. The default search engine is restricted to Bing (you can navigate to Google and search there, if you really want to), which is lame. It is a full browsing experience, though, despite its limitations.
Things I Don't Like:
To be honest, I don't have much negative to say about it. It's very well made and I'm quite happy with it. It was worth the price. The touch screen can lag for a fraction of a second right after it is awakened, but this is rare. Also, there aren't many accessories available, and the app section of the marketplace is extremely small. As in ~17 apps. The screen is fingerprint friendly, but it wipes off easily. The headphones are... well, they're blah. Get nicer ones, or you're wasting your time buying a player with such good sound quality. The weakest point is definitely the internet browser, but it works in a pinch... there's nothing fundamentally flawed with it, it's just not the same as running Chrome on a PC hooked up to an Ethernet cable.
This device is, simply put, fun. It makes digital media convenient, portable, and beautiful. I got exactly what I wanted - an enjoyable way to experience my media.

 | Zune Premium Earphones
Not great -- 2010-02-22 These buds sound pretty good, but they don't fit your ear, no matter which of the 3 supplied sets of rubber pieces you use. The cord is horrible and cheap feeling, and I just can't recommend these to anybody.
Right ear piece did not work -- 2010-02-20 well when i got it in the mail and connected it the right ear piece was not working so now i have to send it back :(

 | Zune Sync Cable
Not too Shabby! -- 2010-02-07 Works great. It was a little shorter of a cord than what originally came with the Zune player, which was actually a plus since I wanted one that I could put in the car, and the price could not have been beat.
Zune Sync Cable -- 2010-02-03 This Zune wire, failed to work the first couple times I tried to connect my Zune to the computer with it, but eventually is worked, and we are now able to charge the Zune and add music to it.

 | Zune Home AV Pack v2
great product for zune owners -- 2010-03-06 This is great, and at the price I bought it for well worth it. My only complaint is that the remote battery was dead upon arrival, so I had to go to radio shack and shell out $5 for a new battery after which the remote worked fine.
All-in-all great product for a great price, and if you own a zune it's really well worth it.
Great Deal -- 2010-02-17 This is an outstanding bargain. It's the full Zune Dock with remote control, A/C charger and A/V cable that you pay 60.00 for in stores. Buy a bunch of them for the office, boat, motorhome etc.

 | Zune HD AV Dock
Broke! -- 2010-03-09 I wish I could have had a chance to actually use the thing. I plugged it in, got audio out of my stereo. Tried to get video, and it was no go. Took the Zune out, checked the tv output selection, and then reseated the Zune into the dock. Now there is no video OR audio out, and the remote doesn't even work anymore. I live overseas, and bought this in the states when visiting family. I am going to try to get the cheaper syncing dock station. After all, I already have the cables, and I already have a USB power connection. Maybe after I get one, I will come update this review.
A few minor issues, but pretty cool overall. -- 2010-03-02 I have been using the Zune A/V dock with my Zune HD at least 3 times a week since I got it a month or two ago. Due to the fact that we have a TVs in both the bedroom and the living room, the simplicity of moving the dock between the two rooms has been much appreciated. Its takes all of about 2 minutes to switch TVs, and that includes the time walking from room to room. Up until now I had simply been connecting my laptop to the TV with an S-video and audio output cables, rendering my not quite new laptop useless for the duration of the viewing. Now I have my laptop back and a remote that allows me to start the next episode from the comfort of my sofa. Navigating with the remote is easy and the interface is almost exactly like on the Zune itself. Picture quality is just fine for our liking, but I am no expert in that respect. Also, it works with both standard def. and HD TVs, as long as the SD TV has a RCA inputs. HD uses an HDMI cable of course.
Now for the gripes:
For some reason, you have to completely power off the Zune before you place it in the dock. I realize this is an issue with the Zune, not the dock, but it still seems relevant. I had a couple days of frustration before I found the solution in some Zune forum. I would imagine this will be eventually be fixed in a software update at some point. It is not really a big deal, but it is kind of annoying.
The other issue is the price. It just seems a little high. Don't get me wrong, the dock does what it is supposed to and does it well for the most part. It just seems a bit high to me.
Overall, I am very happy with it and can't honestly say I wouldn't buy it all over again knowing what I know now. In fact, the A/V output capability of the Zune HD has resulted in it being used almost exclusively in the house, as opposed to the car for which it was originally purchased.

 | Zune Car Pack
Disappointed -- 2010-02-25 I was very disappointed in the quality. It cuts in and out and does not stay connected very well to my zune. Very poor reception and I don't see myself going out of my way to use it.
Waiting for almost 2 months now... -- 2010-02-12 I was told that this "Car Pack" of over ten different pieces would be shipped over a number of deliveries. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift and I have STILL only received 1 of the pieces.

 | Zune 8 GB Digital Media Player (Red)
The birthday present that wasn't -- 2010-03-09 Well, the Zune didn't work when I got it, so I had to make an emergency run to Walmart the night before the 13 year old's birthday and ended up spending more that I intended for an Ipod Nano. Because, well, you know, 13 is a pretty big birthday event. Then having to spend the money on the Ipod threw my budget off kilter, and OF COURSE, I had to wait for the refund from Tiger Direct, but I must admit, the return/refund process was the best part of this transaction -- it was pretty seamless and I had my money back as fast as possible.
Horribe product and service experience -- 2010-03-06 I bought this Zune and had battery problems from day 1. After trying everything they recommended over about a 2 month period (cycling battery, etc.) I gave up and sent it in for service. They sent me back a different replacement model. So I called them to explain this and they said they were out of stock on the 8gb version and that's why they gave me the bigger one. I want the small one for working out - I have a full size iPod already. So, they basically offered me a free month on the Zune site for my inconvenience. WTF.
Bad product and bad service. Get an iPod.

 | Zune Dock Pack v2
Great for what it is -- 2010-01-31 This product is just what I needed so that my computer did not have several USB cords out the front and in my way.
Used with 120 with only minor issues -- 2009-12-26 The dock comes with adaptors, none labeled specifically for the 120, but other reviewers stated that Zune's customer service said it would work, so I gave it a shot. I used the 80's adaptor and while the 120 rested a little unsteadily, it was connected enough to start charging. Since I still seemed to be having some issues with getting a really solid charge, I followed the Zune tech site's suggestion and after a half hour on the dock, connected it back to the computer and it worked perfectly.
After the initial full charge using the dock and computer, we're able to use the dock alone now. Apart from the semi-wobbly condition, I would still recommend it for owners of the 120 as an alternate charge source - I'm not sure if making some alterations to the adaptor would help, but we may try that to address the unsteadiness issue.

 | Zune HD Sync Dock
Don't buy this if you want function out of the remote. -- 2010-03-05 I really want to love my Zune HD, but Microsoft keeps doing things that are intentionally frustrating, and I think I've finally given up hope. The last straw: I received the Sync Dock today, and hoped to use it at work on my desk. However, unless you plug the dock into a television, the remote won't allow you to navigate through the menus. You can press play, you can adjust the volume, and you can jump back and forth between tracks within the playlist, but you can't navigate the menus. Want to go to a completely different artist?...no can do. Want to jump to a podcast?.....Sorry! I called support, and apparently this is by design. HUH?
Why....why.....WHY would you design it like this?
Not What I Thought -- 2010-02-20 First, this does NOT come with a "Small and convenient AC adapter." That was a mistake on Microsoft's description. Second, you can not use this to listen to the HD radio through your computer. That last point is the main reason I bought this dock and I suppose it was my lack of information on what it would do for me. The documentation provided with this device is minimal and almost impossible to see. Some of the poorest I have ever received for an electronic device. The online info is not much better, but you can read that. It does its job and it looks good, but I was disappointed.
