Auto-off feature makes these headphones useless -- 2010-09-03
After fighting with these headphones for a few hours tonight, I felt compelled to write my VERY FIRST review here on Amazon! That's how completely disappointed I am in this unit. Hopefully this will save others from making the mistake of purchasing these.
As the title says, the auto-off feature renders these headphones utterly useless. They work fine for awhile, then suddenly turn off, even though there is no break in the audio! When the unit shuts off, the resulting loud static through the headphones is jolting, to say the least. After the first time, the automatic shut-off seemed to become more frequent (every five minutes or so), even though there was plenty of sound. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Overall, I enjoy these headphones...they have a few major design flaws though.
GOOD
-Perfect weight, not too heavy not too light
-Actual sound is nice and rich
-Charging dock looks neat...and works just fine
-Charging dock uses swappable cables(the input is 3.5mm so you can use any cable)
-Includes accessories
BAD
-Auto shut off triggers after about 1 minute of silence....then HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
-Fair range, static begins after 13 feet.

I had to buy five of these over a period of month or so to get two sets that worked for over a week. And even then one charging cradle didn't work. These are really cheaply made. After about year, now both units have failed again. So I have bought five of these and got a year's use out of one. PURE JUNK.

good, basic wireless headphone -- 2010-08-26
Currently have 2 of these, and have given some away as gifts.
GOOD:
- cheap (when on sale)
- reasonable sound quality
- comfortable
- easy to hookup and use
BAD:
- IR range is somewhat limited (line-of-sight)
- sound quality is not that good at higher volumes
- durability not quite as hoped - my father-in-law blew his out quickly
- battery life is only fair
Very good -- 2010-08-24
Battery great when put back into charging station between use, but runs low if not. Easy to use, but input jack sometimes comes loose. Seems durable so far; time will tell.

Well to start off the Headphones Came defective. one side didn't work. So i had to ship them back extra cost. After receiving these headphones i notice there is poor quality of sound most of the time. some times its okay. Now the headphones decided not to work the play/pause, fwd, back buttons...This was a waste of money in the long run. Don't Buy these Headphones. This product is not worth buying. Instead invest your money in another quality bluetooth headphones.
Not Sweat Proof -- 2010-08-18
This product seemed like a great buy at first. I run about 4 to 6 miles every other day and do an alternate cardio activity on my off days and loved the freedom of no wires and how comfortable the headset felt however, I sweat alot and the buttons stopped working no big deal as long as the music stayed on i didn't care......then it started to make phone calls on its own while I was running to whoever I last called or the volume would just turn down and up on its own. I think the sweat may have worked its way into the space where the red meets the black on the inside of the headset. Great idea just need to work on the quality now. I guess if you have the money to buy a set every 1-2 months this is a great product for you, not so much for me.

Hearing What the rest of the Family Hears -- 2010-08-17
I have owned a couple different 900MHZ Headsets. This is the best one I've had for clarity and volume control. I can watch TV all night and never wake anyone in the house. It also helps me to hear what is being said on the TV.
The only thing that I have found annoying is putting the headset in the stand to recharge. You must have an extremely light and balanced touch. It just doesn't work well for older folks with big shaky hands. In order for it to charge, the green light must come on. It is very rare that I can set the headset in place it in place and get this to happen on the first try. It usually takes four or five tries. There you have my only complaint.
I would buy this item again because of the comfort of it sitting on my head and ears and the clarity and volume. For theses things it is a good buy and a good product.

Best bluetooth for loud noise -- 2010-09-01
We purchased a $50 bluetooth from Costco - the little one in the ear and it was junk. Sounded like you were in a tin can and I was using it in the house! Took it back the next day and purchased the Blueparrott roadwarrior headset for $100 at a truck stop. Was worried about purchasing China made products and not be able to return it quickly - so I didn't save the $30+ on Amazon. Had read a couple of reviews where they had purchased and it didn't work right out of the package, but ours worked. BEST purchase ever - great volume control - noise control - sound is great, no tin can - battery life is great too. My husband and I talk for four hours at a time! Worth the money - don't hesitate to purchase it.
Much Better -- 2010-08-22
My last Blue Parrot lasted about 4 years before I neeeded a new battery. I gave it to a relative and bought this modle. It lasts longer, is quiter, and connects faster and easier. I like the new and improved for using in my truck.

AWESOME -- 2010-08-30
I have a 2- and 4-year old, and these headphones work great for them. Our car has dual DVD players (2-channels) and these headphones work great on channel one, leaving us to use the cars manufact. headphones for channel two. Automatic shut-off is a great feature and saves on batteries. Love, love, LOVE these headphones!
Kids Gear wireless -- 2010-08-29
Comfy, fits kids pretty good and some adults, sound quality is very reasonable. Auto shutoff is a must and these do have it. The power switch is cheesy though and they should improve it, mainly it is not mounted well in the housing and moves around a little. Not too big of a deal just be careful when switching. My kids keep pulling off the foam ear muffs, one of them said it came off by itself. If you are not dexterous you may have trouble getting it back onto the the headphone, I suggest possibly inserting some glue before hand to keep them from coming off.

Holy Smokes -- 2010-08-30
I couldn't be happier with these headphones. ZERO background noise. Exceptionally audio and as advertized the headphones enhance the audio clarity, as if bringing the voices to the front of the screen.
This particular model -- the 180 -- focuses on "open air" and the audio clarity. They do not dwell on the surround sound capability. But, I have found the surround sound to be incredible. Even much more of a 5:1 effect than I get with my room system (which is also fantastic). So - I wouldn't even consider any other model, or for that matter, any other brand than the Sennheiser. Pricey? yes, but you get what you pay for.
An Amazing Cordless Headset -- 2010-08-20
I have a friend that has an older set (HDR 130) of these head phones and I tried them out. I knew I had to have a set of my own. When I started looking I didn't have to look very far. Amazon sells quality equipment at great prices. When I saw the price that this set was going for on Amazon, compared to the MSRP, I knew I had a great set of headphones and an even more amazing price. I cannot recommend these headphones enough. Fantastic sound quality, range, looks and style. Thanks Amazon for offering quality with great pricing.

I PURCHASED THE RF970 A FEW YEARS AGO FROM B&H BECAUSE OF HEARING LOSS AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE COMFORT AND SOUND QUALITY. THE ON/OFF HEADBAND BROKE BUT I WAS ABLE TO REPAIR IT WITH MY TRUSTY POP RIVIT TOOL. THE BATTERY LIFE BEGAN TO SHORTEN, SO I TOOK THESE TO MY VACCATION HOME AND STILL USE THEM. I PURCHASED ANOTHER PAIR FOR HOME USE. THE NEW PAIR DID NOT TRANSMIT SO I SENT THEM BACK TO SONY AND RECEIVED I NEW PAIR WHICH WORK GREAT.
THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT I HAD TO PAY $14.00 TO HAVE THEM SHIPPED FOR REBAIR, WITH NO REFUND!

This Sony bluetooth is incredible. It has very good sound for a bluetooth headphone. At first I was a little aprehensive about purchasing any headphones with bluetooth tech but, after trying several other brands I found this one on Amazon. After reading some of the reviews I decided to give it a try. Sure enough I was blown away. I would give it five stars but,the only problem I have is the latency or the synching with watching some movies. Some movies are just fine. However, I can live with that bit of annoyance. So, this Sony product is worth the money if you can live with that little bit of flaw.

The sound quality and level is as good as it gets for being bluetooth, much much better than many corded earphones. the only thing that left me to desire was for the controls for skipping songs to work on my iphone, volume works, voice control works, phone calls work ok, though no skipping nor fast forward, no worries, i still recommend it without a doubt for the sound quality is great.
If sony ever wants to improve it they should work on improving noise canceling and skipping controls.
