 | Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones with Reversible Earcups
Great for isolation, and very nice quality overall -- 2010-07-28 When I picked this thing up it was for the following reasons, (a) I wanted some new on ear phones for comfort, (b) I play drums and wanted something to use so I could play along with songs, and (c) My other ear phones gave shallow sound quality that left me wanting some nicer headphones. Of all the reasons that I got this item it blasted all my expectations out of the water. Then again this is Sony most of their stuff is real quality stuff. For the price can't beat it, so if you are wondering whether to get it or not the answer is simply HELL YES!
Great headphones -- 2010-07-25 I have used several headphones on my mp3 player but this headphone really improves the sound quality

 | Sony Ultra Lightweight MDR-W08L Vertical In-The-Ear Headphones
SONY Lightweight Ear Phones -- 2010-07-27 I just received the headphones and so far I am pleased with the sound quality. I use them for running with my SONY armband radio. They are comfortable to wear. I hope they will last, however I bought 2 pair so I have one as a back up since the price is low.
Won't use anything else -- 2010-07-26 I have had several pairs of these headphones over the years. I have small ears, so the earbud headphones hurt my ears and don't stay in. These fit perfectly, and they have great sound. The only complaint I have is that they are harder and harder to find as the ear buds become more popular. I hope Sony continues to make these. They don't last that long if you pull on them a lot, so I now keep them in a pencil pouch in my backpack so that they don't get caught on all my other stuff.

 | Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones
No complaints -- 2010-07-26 Indeed the most comfortable speakers around. I found some comments that mentioned that the speakers might uncomfortable if you have a big head (like me, I have a helmet size XXL) but I found those claims to be unsubstantiated. With these speakers you get the most bang per buck.
My dads is hard to please -- 2010-07-26 Bought as fathers day gift for him to use with his desktop, complained about sound quality... Unit has a movie and music mode which I didnt care for much but could use more then pops. May just take them from him and use for my office... Get him some better ones..

 | Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System
Mid-price Wireless Headphones fill the Gap -- 2010-07-27 I asked for these headphones since my old wired headphones had literally fallen apart. I wanted a wireless set since I really like the wireless Sennheiser set I use at work but I didn't think the price for a Sennheiser would be worth it. I also wanted IR headphones because I didn't want another RF source to cause frequency interference with other electronics in the house. Plus, I usually use these right in front of my PC, so I can have the transmitter above my monitor and I don't have to worry about losing the signal if I leave the room.
After several weeks of using the headhpones for listening to music or playing games on my PC, I think these headphones will work fine until I have the money to buy a Sony MDR-IF540RK ($62) or Pioneer SE-DIR800C ($250). The biggest gripe I have is comfort. These start to bother my ears after prolonged use, whereas my larger Sennheiser headphones cover the entire ear and are much more comfortable.
Not for use with big screen plasma tvs -- 2010-07-22 I was excited to get this product for a gift, only to discover it becomes unuseable with static when you are sitting in front of a plasma TV. It works fine with a stereo and possibly with other TV's, but not a plasma. The problem is with the IR between the headphones and the base. Maybe if your far enough away it would work, but if you want to sit in a normal viewing distance, look for something else. Also, the sound volume is somewhat limited.

 | Sony MDRNC7/BLK Noise Canceling on-ear headphones (Black)
Run from these -- 2010-07-29 The sound sucks (zero bass). The Noise cancelling sucks (doesn't even cancel out my little desk fan noise). Picks up cell phone GSM noise constantly and amps it into your ears. The cord is to short. The headband carves into the top of my skull. They don't get loud enough. I can't think of a single good thing to say, and that's being kind. I really should return these POS, and I would never, ever, ever buy them again. I will almost certainly just throw them out and try again with another brand.
Sound OK, noise cancellation better than nothing -- 2010-07-26 This earphone provides a complete ear seal. Worn on a 747 and a 777 it eliminated the higher pitches of the engine noise but a steady hum could still be heard. The sound was better and less wearing with the sound deadening engaged but I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps I was expecting dead silence. However the price I paid was 1/10 of the price asked for the Bose phones (do they give total silence?).

 | Sony MDR-EX56LP/BLK EX Style Headphones - Hybrid Silicone Type Earbuds (Black)
3sets and same problem every time. . . -- 2010-07-24 I have been in and out of these head phones for years now, and I'm just sick and tired of replacing them.
I more than likely would have given up on them after year one, but I never use them enough to believe there was a problem with these head phones. I have had 3 pair and every time it's the same problem. The right ear goes out, and will not come back. It's not because of a short, I think the speaker inside of the ear-bud blows out. . .
3 different pair and the same problem with all of them. I have used them on 2 different IPODS, and a cheaper Sansa 4gb. They sound good while playing, but don't expect to get alot of use out of them. . ..
I don't know much about electornics... -- 2010-07-15 Though I know very little about electronics, these earbuds are fantastic. They are extremely comfortable compared to the previous pair I owned and with the soft rubber conforming to my ear it blocks out all background noise! It also came with two other sizes of earbuds that are changed easily and a "thing" to wrap the long cord around for easy keep.

 | Sony Mdr-As20J Active Style Headphones with Soft Loop Hangers (Black)
Don't fall off -- 2010-07-24 I was looking for headphones to wear while running that wouldn't fall out. These headphones are absolutely secure. But I find for exteneded wearing the size of the inner speaker that fits into my ear canal is slightly too large and becomes quite painful.
Runner in love with these ear phones -- 2010-07-13 Bought them for my husband who complains that no earphones will stay on him when he's running. He loves them! Stay on and sound great!

 | Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone
A great set of headphones -- 2010-07-30 -Background-
This is my third headset for use in the workplace. I'm in the IT field. I spend about half my day talking to people, and the other half with my head down working. The trouble is, the people around me are in the same situation, and our quiet parts of the day are seldom aligned, plus we are all loud talkers, so my office is usually really noisy.
The first two headsets I tried were earbud headsets. One set (Shure e2c) accomplished sound-isolation via earbuds composed of foam earplugs. Another set (from Phillips) used active noise cancellation. Both worked pretty well, the Shure being the standout for sound quality, but earbuds have a few fundamental problems.
I found earbuds were a real pain to take in and out of the ear to accommodate 'drive-by' conversations. The Phillips would sometimes fall out of the ear. With the Shure headphones, I could stand to have them in my ears for about a half-day before the skin in my ears became irritated and wearing them became painful. The noise cancellation feature was great for external low frequency sounds, but did not isolate the real noise problem of background noise from other people talking.
After some painstaking Googling and reading up on reviews here at Amazon ('Amazoning?'), I landed on these headphones.
-Sound Quality-
This was my first set of high quality over ear headphones, so I cannot size these headphones up against their competitors. That said, I was floored by the sound quality of these headphones. Previously, my favorite place for enjoying music was in the car, where I can play it as loud as I like without the concern of disturbing others (my own little environmentally-controlled acoustic bubble). They blew away any consumer-accessible home theater setup, car stereo, headphone or earbud I had ever heard previously, and instantly sold me on high-quality headphones as the ideal music enjoyment experience.
These headphones are very well balanced. The lows are perfect: Strong but not overpowering or uncomfortable, present, and clear. Well managed bass is typically difficult to find in headphones, where it is either overdone or underpowered. Highs are are perfect: Clear, and not overpowering or "over bright." I have never heard high 'clipping' or distortion unless it was in the recording. With well-balanced highs and lows, the oft-neglected mid tones are in perfect balance with the rest of the sound. I feel like the sound is perfect, an even, level balance, even after several years of heavy use. I hear things in music that I never noticed before (even with other headphones), like sniffs and coughs from the audience during a winter-time recording of Horowitz.
-Sound Isolation-
The headphones have a sealed back. They do a great job of filtering out background noise. I sometimes wear them alone (no music) just to muddle down the noise in the office and on airplanes. They work just well enough - better than nothing but not as isolating as foam earplugs (and certainly more comfortable).
Good sound isolation sets the stage for good sound reproduction. I barely have to turn my iPod up to enjoy music at a comfortable level. The lowest volume settings easily drown out my coworkers and works well on crowded airplanes, also.
They also do a great job of not letting sound *out.* I often listen to really good jams pretty loud at the office. When I press the ear cups together, I can barely tell they are on while holding them in my hands. Great for not disturbing people around you or for not disturbing one's partner when playing video games late into the night.
-Usability-
You don't need a powerful setup to enjoy these headphones. I use them primarily with an iPod, but I have also used them for gaming.
They are easy to take off and put on for quick conversations.
While the sound quality is excellent, and a sealed back design is good for sound isolation, they may not be so good as a DJ headset, since the ear cups do not rotate 180 degrees.
-Comfort-
I have a large cranium (I wear a XXL motorcycle helmet) and large-ish ears. These headphones fit great and feel great. Usually they are all the way out to the second or third from last 'click' on the headband adjuster. With the ear cups on, the headband rests on the top of my head, but has never tossed my hair.
I routinely wear these for a full 8-12 hours. There is no pressure on or around my ears or on my head. Sometimes they get a little warm, but never uncomfortably so.
On airplanes, I usually put them on as soon as I sit down to filter out the conversations around me, and leave them on for the whole flight, including sleeping with them on.
-Durability-
These headphones don't get out much. They mostly sit in a drawer at my office when not in use. I have taken them on a few trips (DC to Salt Lake City and to Greece) where they have had to endure air travel in a laptop bag and a few trips through security. They have held up very well, with no signs of wear.
-The Bottom Line-
These headphones changed the way I listen to music, and they inspired me to seek out a headset for gaming. I would buy them again without a second thought.
I know Sony has made a successor to these headphones, and from what I've read, the sound quality on the newer headphones is not as well balanced. I hope Sony continues to manufacture these, as they are a very nice, high quality product. Why mess with perfection?
I often seriously consider buying another set for home or as a backup to my set at the office.
Highly recommended.
Excellent for my home recording studio. -- 2010-07-28 I purchased these headphones for my home recording studio after reviewing countless offerings. I made this choice based on other users' reviews and the purported use of these headphones in professional recording studios. They are very comfortable, sound beautiful, have gold-plated connections, a screw-on 1/4" adapter and a robust cable. I have been very pleased with my purchase and plan to purchase a second set for when fellow musicians come over to lay down tracks. They have been comfortable to wear for long periods and fit around my ears perfectly. If you have larger ears this may not be the case. I cannot yet review their durability but all my old headphones had disintegrated in the Arizona heat.

 | Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series Headphones with CCAW Voice Coil
Great sounding headphones -- 2010-07-30 The headphones are comfortable and sound great. The cups provide good isolation from outside sounds. I've had great luck with Sony durability and performance, and these headphones rank with the top headphones that I've owned. I've used the headphones for some studio work and just listening to tunes.
Perfect Monitor Headphones -- 2010-07-28 I bought these headphones in June 2010. After listening to them for a while, I can easily say these are the best headphones I have ever used. Perfectly balanced sound, crisp highs, tight mids and nice lows. Very comfortable, lightweight and a nice length cord. These are beautiful and they sound beautiful as well. Could not ask for more in a monitor headphone for listening to music. I also own a pair of Sony MDR-V700 Dj headphones which have much more powerful bass, which is perfect for that, but I always go to these for listening at home.

 | Sony Walkman NWZS545RED 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Red)
SOFTWARE CORRUPT and WORST CUST. SERVICE! -- 2010-07-30 This is a "NEVER AGAIN." So, dear review reader, please take our advice and DON'T BUY IT the first time. Please Google "Sony Walkman Software Corruption." Be sure to read the 2006 article where Sony "admits the software has problems." Well guess what, it's 2010 and the software still STINKS! Our brief (and still pending) episode with Sony went like this:
We (hubby & I) bought 2 Walkmans (8G and 16G). Loved them...for one whole month
ERROR! Software connection Issue
Returned at store of purchase, got 2 replacement devices
ERROR! Software Connection Issue (on the 8G device).
Store of purchase says we must contact Sony.
Mailed Sony faulty device, Proof Purch, Original Receipt, etc.
Approved for refund (within 1 YR warranty period)
A month goes by...
Another month...
Another month...
Another month...
STILL WAITING! NO device and NO money back
In the meantime, second device has also failed.
Moral of the story: DON'T BUY IT! Just pay the extra $$$ for a nice iPod and be done with it. When we had an iPod issue, the iStore people fixed it SAME DAY and IN STORE.
How to put video on the Sony Walkman NWZS545 player -- 2010-07-25 I have had a very difficult time both in trying to put video in the correct format on this mp3 player and trying to format video to put on this player. Here is the solution.
Make sure you update the transfer software that is already installed on the player.
Download the latest version of realplayer. It's free, and it comes with video download (for Youtube videos!) and formatting.
After you select a video, and you have either uploaded it from a disc or downloaded it from the internets, use realplayer to download the video and then convert it.
Select WMV for the format you want to convert to. It's downloaded in FLV, but it won't display as FLV on the player. It will play WMV
Next, attach your player to the computer and when the transfer content box comes up, select the videos you want to put on your player. It will list all the videos in the real folder in My Videos. It's that easy!
