Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Headphones with XBS PortPanasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Headphones with XBS Port

Comfortable,affordable and great sound -- 2010-09-02
The Earbud type of headphones that come with MP3 players are not my cup of tea.The sound quality is poor and they hurt my ears.
I discovered these Panasonic ones by accident at Fry's but was a bit skeptical because they're so cheap.
I was blown away by the sound quality of the RP-HT21. I had tried more expensive ones with not nearly the sound quality of these.
I'm so glad Amazon still carries them since they're hard to find and there's no Fry Electronics near where I currently live. They were often out of stock of them, anyway.

Cheap Headphones Cheap Quality -- 2010-08-30
I needed a pair of headphones since my last headphones had a short in them after almost a year of use. Well, I purchased these strictly out of economics reasons. I didn't believe I was getting the greatest headphones, but neither did I think I would have a short in them within the first 4 hours. This is exactly what happened. I took the headphones out of the box at school to use them. Before class I put them in my bookbag. After class, I am having to tilt my head one direction to receive any sound at all and the feed will only come in the right ear. What a peice of garbage, couldnt even last a half a day. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Panasonic RP-HC55-S Noise-Cancelling Earbud Headphones (Silver)Panasonic RP-HC55-S Noise-Cancelling Earbud Headphones (Silver)

Love this product for the first few weeks. -- 2010-09-02
These are quite simply the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. I found them on the Consumer Reports review. They perform well in every way, and the only downside on average is the pen sized battery pack; but this can be clipped underneath a shirt and almost forgotten about. This is probably the only issue for most; I had another issue. Only a couple of weeks after I purchased the product, I turned my head and experienced a loud, high pitched squeal from my headphones. This hurt. It got more and more frequent and at one point I leaned my head forward and the music I was listening to died completely. Now I have dealt enough with electronics and re-soldered enough cords to know not to wind my headphones; so these simply wore out in a matter of weeks. I'll contact the manufacturer today to see if they will cover repair or replacement and update this review accordingly.

I left two stars because I completely love the product itself and obviously from the other reviews you can tell that not everyone has an experience as unsatisfying as mine has been.

Cheers!

-Caleb

didn't see the battery was needed when I ordered -- 2010-08-25
I am ok with the sound and noise reduction quality, however I was surprised to learn that I needed a battery. It is in a pen light sized tube that was between the I-pod and my ears. That means you have this pen light thing hanging down, or you need a shirt to attach it too. I would not get it again, and will be more careful to look at the pictures more closely. Of course you have turn the pen light thing on and off as you use it, or the battery runs down and you are dead in the water and need a new battery. It isn't always convient to have to carry extra batteries.

Finally!!!! -- 2010-07-31
I have owned this headphone only a few days & can't tell you how thrilled I am that I actually went to WalMart (last resort) & found them. My husband will go back & buy more for me...I do not want to be without.

After years of reading reviews of various headphones, being assured various ones will stay in my ears, even another brand like these...I think I've hit the jackpot with the Panasonic SlimZ headphones. The others just didn't stay in my ears, or they were uncomfortable.

I do sleep in them, I listen to audiobooks & they do a good job of putting me to sleep. So every night I plug these babies in & hit the snooze button...listen to Dick Hill or someone else & go to sleep...the MP3 player or CD player cuts off soon & the headphones stay in place & are very comfortable when I turn on my side.

My TV is Panny, my stero is Panny, my DVD player is Panny...now my headphones are Panny. Looks like a brand to keep.

Great Earphones -- 2010-07-31
These earphones are really good. They are comfortable, secure, sound great, and look high tech and nice. I got these when my dog chewed up my apple pair. They are really nice and cheap. I also workout with these and they stay on great. Also when running, stay on great. Only bad, head phone jack is L shape which I personally do not like. So, there you have it. Great overall earphones.

Headphone -- 2010-08-25
I like this one because I don't have to put inside my ear canals. The seller responded quickly and mailed in timely manner. I recommend this seller.

Extremely Uncomfortable -- 2010-08-17
I can't even fathom what they were thinking when they built these. It's as though they didn't know the anatomy of the human ear because they do not fit with the ear structure whatsoever. This results in a very uncomfortable experience, which was really the only thing I wanted when I bought these headphones. I already have Bose QC3's for sound quality, I just wanted these headphones for their convenience and lightweight, like when running at the gym. They failed miserably. I would recommend looking for other headphones.

Keep looking. -- 2010-08-29
Let me start by saying that I really love how these headphones look; they are very cool. Fashion aside, they are not good headphones. They are very uncomfortable, the headband is hard, and the ear cups are not padded inside and punish my ears after 5 minutes of use, its hard plastic on skin, and its not comfortable. Sound quality is another thing, while its not horrible, it isnt the best. I own a pair of AKG k480 nc's and they are fantastic, much better than these guys, but that is clearly a reflection of price and quality. The third thing is the quality. These cans are pretty weak, they feel cheap straight out of the box. They are very flimsy, and the way you adjust them feels like it is going to break. The speakers inside are just that, little speakers, they are cheap, the left speaker has seemed to have developed a bit of a rattle after a week of use. Overall, im not overly impressed with these headphones. If they were cheaper, they might be "worth it" fortunately i was able to get these for $35, so im not crying over this lapse of judgment. Keep looking!

Panasonic SC-HC3 Ultra-Slim iPod Docking Speaker System with CD player, AM/FM Radio, Clock, Alarm, and Remote (Black)Panasonic SC-HC3 Ultra-Slim iPod Docking Speaker System with CD player, AM/FM Radio, Clock, Alarm, and Remote (Black)

Decent sound - but no Bose -- 2010-08-31
This was an impulse buy - pure and simple. My main reason for going to Sears was to purchase a couple of wrenches that were on sale.... but - I happened to walk through the electronics department and saw a table with a half dozen of these on clearance for $50!!! They even had one on display and it sounded halfway decent with the Disney CD they happened to have on hand. I couldn't test it with an Ipod and the radio reception was non-existent in the store. It looked cool and slick with the 2-way automatic sliding door and the Ipod fits inside - nice and protected - not like those where it sits exposed and vulnerable on top. Unfortunately, the sales girl was a real dingbat and didn't know if it came with a remote - and it's not listed on the box either. She also said I had to buy it that day.... those that were left would be thrown out that night!!! I hope Sears isn't that stupid - obviously some of their sales people are though.

Well, for $50 - I thought, "Why not.". Getting it home - I was pleased to find it did have a nice remote and the unit sets up easily. The sound is decent - but it's not a Bose by a long shot. Highs and lows are a bit timid - little sizzle to the cymbals, milquetoast crispness to the brass section, and bass lacking real punch. The 4 equalization presets are laughable... but you can adjust bass and treble independently. There is a bass enhancement setting, a surround mode and a "Remaster" setting that make a little improvement in sound quality. You can also play around with the EQ settings of your Ipod itself to get the best sound. The remote is multifunctional and laid out logically. With the Ipod in use, there are a few quirks though. Flipping to the Artist menu will bring you back to the top of the list - not where you'd left off - and you must press the select button each time to move the cursor... holding it down will not advance down the list automatically. Bummer!

FM radio reception is adequate for local stations - but only if you use the included antenna wire. If you like listening to AM, however, you will be sorely disappointed. It has a cumbersome external loop antenna attachment that doesn't work very well. You would think they'd hide a ferrite antenna inside the unit - like even the cheapest (but better receiving) AM radios do - but, apparently, they didn't. You could, perhaps, add a long wire antenna to the setup as suggested... but that's not practical for everybody.

So - bottom line... for $50 I think I got a great deal - but no way would I shell out any more than that for this unit. If you can find one on clearance - go for it.... otherwise save up for a Bose....

Shelf System - not alarm clock -- 2010-08-21
It is more of a a music player. ipod control poor. dont bother using it as an alarm - works but complex programming.

Panasonic RP-HV152 Portable Earbud Headphones with Powerful SoundPanasonic RP-HV152 Portable Earbud Headphones with Powerful Sound

More bang for your buck! -- 2010-08-11
It's hard to beat these headphones for the price. While they may not have the audio quality to appease audio snobs, I have had no issues with the sound on everything from classical, hip hop, and techno music to action movies. I found the earbuds much more comfortable than in-ear buds that you practically shove down your ear canal. The cord is a decent length and you don't get that static sound from movement against the cord. The buds do not feel or look as cheap as the price would suggest.

Bottom line: If you don't need the best sound quality and are looking for a comfortable and portable set of headphones, these are for you!

Nice sound quality -- 2010-06-26
These are a bit funny, if you put the left one in the right ear and the right one in the left ear then the sound quality is no good. And they tend fit too loosely.

So you must put the left one in the left ear and vise-versa. Then the sound quality is nice, and then they fit better.

It would be nice if it came with foam covers so it would block outside noise. Also they would stay more snugly in the ears. Fortunately though, I did find an old pair of foam covers and slipped them on them and they now work great!

I use them about 2 to 4 hours every day to listen to lectures and classes and I am happy about it. The sound is very realistic, like in a theater.

But it would be better if they came with foam pads, then they would be the PERFECT ear-bud.

Panasonic RP-HV21-K In-Ear Earbud Heaphones with Built-in Clip (Black)Panasonic RP-HV21-K In-Ear Earbud Heaphones with Built-in Clip (Black)

Great sound, but too big for my ears -- 2010-07-18
These earbuds have great sound quality, unfortunately they are pretty large and don't fit snugly into my ear, so I miss a lot of the music due to the seal. Also the reason for the clips is a little vague,ok they clip to my shirt, is that all!? The cord is also pretty long , sometimes it gets caught on doorhandles, bike handlebars and whatever sticks out .

Fantastic Product -- 2010-07-16
This is an absolutely wonderful earphone/headphone set. The quality of the sound is phenomenal. I have purchase and listened to MANY earphones and headphones and this is the best!!!! Even though the price of the product is very inexpensive, the quality is astonishing.

I own and periodically listen to music using my bulkier headphones but these earphones put out better and more realistic sound quality. The earphones fit comfortably in my ears. When I use them, I also place foam covers that I purchased from my local dollar store. The foam covers serve multiple purposes such as provide a fuller sound, more comfort during extended periods of use, add stability while in my ear, and eliminate the initial shock of placing the earphones in my ear on cold days. Using foam covers also minimize the possibility of the earphones falling out while jogging (a concern/complaint mentioned by other customer reviewers).

The cord length and design of the earphone is also appreciated. The length is such that I can comfortably attach my iPod onto the belt around my waist while listening to music. Some other earphone products have cords too short that care must be taken because it doesn't allow for easy use when having on outer clothing such as coats and jackets.

The clip-on capability of each earphone is also a very nice touch when not using them. It avoids the need to roll up or bunch the cord into one's pocket during non-use.

Anyway, most importantly, the sound quality is phenomenal. When listening to music, the clarity of spoken words as well as singing voices in genres such as opera, classical, jazz, R&B, pop, rock, gospel, etc. is outstanding. The clarity of the full range of musical instruments such as wind, chimes, drums, bells, special effects makes the listener feel as if he/she was actually in the room while the sound was recorded. Obviously the enjoyment and quality of one's listening experience is contingent on the device from which the music is being played/listened to -- be it while listening from an iPod, computer, stereo, home entertainment system, etc..

So, in conclusion, this is a FANTASTIC earphone. The fact that it is so inexpensive makes it ideal for purchasing many earphones for several family members, devices and/or family members or friends. You will NOT be disappointed.

Panasonic RP-HC700 Noise-Canceling HeadphonesPanasonic RP-HC700 Noise-Canceling Headphones

Perfect for the price -- 2010-08-31
No product can ever be entirely perfect but this comes pretty close. Full rich sound with or without noise canceling on. A bit better bass response than the Bose and about the same noise canceling ability. Why pay more for Bose advertising when these will allow you to sleep on a plane just as well. I would like the end of the headphone jack to be thinner to accommodate an iPhone with a case. I had to shave it down a bit with a dremel tool.

Comfortable and really isolate noise -- 2010-08-27
Great sounds for a cheap price compared to Bose. I have the HC500 and the reason I replace that was because this is far more comfortable. It doesn't press down my head.
